About this program

This is an introductory course to programming. It is designed for kids that have no prior experience with coding. We will be using Scratch which is a block-based visual programming language targeted primarily at children. During this course, we will be teaching the different aspects of the programming tool to get the kid familiarized with Scratch and coding. 

There will be 8 sessions of 1 hour each. We will be covering the following topics during the course:

- What is Scratch?
- The layout of Scratch
- Sprites and backgrounds
- Movement 
- Character creation and costumes
- Looks 
- Sounds
- Events and broadcasting
- Loops and conditions
- Sensing

We will also be creating a few simple projects during these sessions. 


To participate in this class, you need:

1. Laptop with Internet Connection
2. Zoom Video Conferencing Software

Make sure that the device you're joining the live class on is fully charged and you have good internet connectivity. Also, sit in a quiet place where you can concentrate without distraction.
